报告主要内容:
Hedera L. (ivies) is one of the few temperate genera of the mainly tropical Ginseng family (Araliaceae). Ivies are climbing perennials that inhabit humid environments in the Old World from Japan to Macaronesia, across South Asia, North Africa and Europe. Of ancient origin in Asia, Hedera is considered to be a relict of the Tertiary flora (Oligocene, Rim 1994), although the species existing today seem to be the result of relatively recent diversification (Ackerfield & Wen Int. J. Pl. Sci. 2003, Gallego-Narbón et al. J. Biogeogr. 2023). Within the genus there are four ploidy levels. Indeed, Hedera is placed within the Asian Palmates, which is not only the largest clade of Araliaceae but also the one that harbours most of the polyploid genera of the family and all north hemisphere genera that occur within temperate latitudes. As part of a collaborative project with Dr. Moaine El Baudoiri (CNRS France), we sequenced with PACBio the whole genome of a wild individual of Hedera helix L. We assembled the genome to the chromosome level and annotated genes and transposable elements. By comparinson with already available chromosome assembled genomes of other Araliceae species we identified and located in time two whole genome duplications with relevance for the early evolution of the Asian Palmates. These findings support our previous results based on phylogenomic comparative approach.
